Carbon Footprinting Survey planned and energy monitors trialled

This group have purchased a number of energy monitors which they have been trialling and recording data about household applicances. We are also engaging in a trial of sophisticated monitoring devices that will be placed in over 100 homes and testing behavioural change. manufacturer about a range of other monitors which could be used during our carbon footprinting survey of houses and businesses which will take place in March and early April 2008. The footprinting excercise will provide us with baseline energy use data for the whole area and which we can use to to measure and reduce our energy use (and energy bills!) in future years. The group are also looking for organisations (climate change, academic and voluntary) to help with the carbon footprint survey.
We have also entered the Big Green Challenge and we will be looking for 60 houses to try and reduce their footprint by 60% over 60 days. The winners of the challenge will share in a million pound prize fund to be spent on their project
In the mean time, if you are interested in finding our more about either helping with or participating in the footprinting survey please get in touch.
