Castle Lower School aiming for Eco-School accreditation
Castle Lower School is the only school within the area. They have been busy devising a school travel plan with the aim of encouraging pupils to walk and cycle to school. They are also in the process of becoming an Eco-School which has involved an energy audit of the school's buildings and setting up a school allotment and composting facility within the school grounds.
ZCC have been running a competition with the school which required pupils to design a character who lives in the castle beside the River Ouse - a 'zero hero'. The winner of the competition will be guest of honour at our launch event in April. Watch this space for some of the entries!
